KTR Accuses Telangana Congress of Making Worlds Biggest Deception with 420 Promises

Hyderabad, March 17: K.T. Rama Rao, the Executive President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a scathing attack on the Telangana Congress government on Tuesday. He accused them of making 420 promises during the elections and failing to fulfill them, calling it “the world’s biggest deception.”

Speaking during the thanks-giving motion on the Governor’s address in the Assembly, KTR stated that no party in the world has made so many promises and then failed to deliver. He accused Congress of reneging on their commitment to implement guarantees within 100 days.

KTR questioned, “Congress claimed that every family would receive benefits up to ₹2.5 lakh. Over two years have passed; can the government show even one family that has received this benefit?”

He remarked that the Governor’s address should reflect the government’s policies and commitments, but the current government has reduced it to mere formality. He recalled that in the first address after Congress came to power, the then Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy spoke about granting legal status to “six guarantees.”

KTR raised concerns about the fate of the file signed by the Chief Minister regarding this matter. He demanded, “If such an important file has gone missing, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should be formed immediately to locate it.”

He further stated that if the first Governor’s address lacks credibility due to unfulfilled promises, the reliability of subsequent addresses also comes into question. He said, “If a file signed by the Chief Minister holds no significance, how can the public trust this government?”

The BRS leader alleged that the state’s administrative system has weakened over the past 28 months. He accused the government of increasing debt, financial mismanagement, fund diversion, and prioritizing political propaganda over development.

KTR also claimed that Telangana’s resources are being used for political campaigns in other states, while the government has failed to secure funds from the center.

On the economic front, he asserted that Telangana, once one of the fastest-growing states, is now witnessing a decline. He raised concerns over the drop in GST collection, registrations, and vehicle revenue, attributing it to “negative policies and mindset.”

He also alleged a decline in industry and IT employment, stating that claims made during investment conferences are merely propaganda. Additionally, he accused the government of attempting to erase the legacy of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Discussing welfare schemes, KTR noted that women, farmers, pensioners, and unemployed youth are all disillusioned with the government’s policies. He questioned the status of promises such as ₹2,500 monthly assistance for women, interest-free loans, agricultural loan waivers, and unemployment benefits.

He further alleged that many schemes initiated by the previous government have either been discontinued or weakened.
