New Delhi, 20 August (Kiran News). The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) vice presidential candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan will file his nomination on Wednesday at 11 am. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Ministers and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, will be present during the nomination. Prime Minister Modi himself will be the proposer for C.P. Radhakrishnan’s nomination. Earlier, at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting held in Parliament on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi introduced Radhakrishnan to the alliance MPs and appealed for their support.

On the other hand, the opposition INDIA alliance has announced B. Sudarshan Reddy as its candidate for the vice president’s post. He will file his nomination on 21 August. B. Sudarshan Reddy has served as a judge at the Andhra Pradesh High Court and Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court. He retired from the Supreme Court in 2011.
It is noteworthy that after Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the vice president’s post, the Election Commission issued the notification for this election on 7 August. The vice presidential election will be held in Parliament on 9 September and the results will be declared on the same day.
