New Delhi, July 28: Independent MP Pappu Yadav from Purnia has welcomed the Bihar government’s decision not to take action against protesting students. However, he has accused the police of serious misconduct towards the students and their families. Yadav insists that the government should first apologize to the students and take strict measures against the involved police officers.
Speaking from Delhi, Yadav stated that the Bihar police have jeopardized the future of children and their families. He condemned the excessive force used against the protesting students and demanded clarity from the government on why such actions were taken and what consequences would follow for those responsible.
Yadav also questioned the role of special forces, asserting that the treatment of protesters by the police and STF warrants investigation. He alleged that some officers acted against students while in civilian clothes and called for the suspension of those found guilty in such cases.
He emphasized that the opposition stands united on student issues. Student organizations have made it clear that they will sit on indefinite protests, insisting that there will be no compromise on the issues affecting students, youth, and the poor.
Yadav highlighted the recurring incidents of paper leaks as a serious concern for the future of the youth. He demanded that the government take concrete steps to prevent such occurrences.
Regarding the Bankipur by-election, Yadav criticized the focus on money and publicity over public issues. He noted that many leaders were absent while students were protesting, and the public is becoming increasingly aware of political claims and promises.
Yadav concluded that the Bankipur by-election appears to be centered on political confusion, financial influence, and publicity rather than the real issues facing the public.
