JP Nadda Criticizes Opposition During Bhopal Rally, Urges Self-Reflection Over EVM Concerns
In Bhopal, JP Nadda calls for self-reflection among opposition leaders, criticizing their handling of electoral issues and EVM concerns.

Bhopal, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : A rally titled “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” was held in Bhopal on November 4, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Central Health Minister JP Nadda participated and addressed the gathering, targeting the opposition’s behavior.
During his speech, Nadda emphasized the irresponsible actions of the opposition, suggesting they were undermining national stability and eroding public trust in democratic institutions. He remarked that India, known as the birthplace of democracy, has seen the Election Commission earn global recognition through years of hard work. He accused the Congress party of attempting to tarnish this reputation due to its dwindling public support.
Nadda noted that Congress members are aware they will not receive public backing in the next two to three decades, leading them to blame the Election Commission. He pointed out the inconsistency in Congress’s narrative, stating that when they win elections, they praise the commission, but when they lose, they accuse it of bias. He highlighted the unique approach of the Election Commission in India, which sends officials door-to-door to facilitate voter registration, unlike other countries where citizens must visit offices themselves.
The minister further criticized Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for claiming to be defenders of democracy, citing historical instances of repression during the Emergency when many were imprisoned without trial. Nadda, who has personal experience of this period, recounted how his family faced imprisonment.
He challenged the opposition to demonstrate that electronic voting machines (EVMs) could be hacked, asking why they have not taken up the Election Commission’s challenge. He pointed out the recent elections conducted via ballot paper, where Congress performed poorly, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
In closing, Nadda advised Rahul Gandhi to shift focus from EVMs and ballots to self-reflection. He reiterated that successful politics requires winning the hearts of the people. He also mentioned that the Supreme Court had upheld the validity of the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, which has been implemented multiple times, including during previous Congress-led governments.
The rally underscored the BJP’s commitment to defending democratic processes while challenging the opposition’s credibility.
