BJPs Tarun Chugh Criticizes Rahul Gandhi for Lack of Courage in Parliament

Tarun Chugh of BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of spreading confusion and avoiding debate in Parliament, questioning his integrity and past actions.

New Delhi, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : Tarun Chugh, a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), launched a strong attack on Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, during a recent discussion in New Delhi. Chugh accused Gandhi of being adept only at making statements and lacking the courage to engage in substantive debates within Parliament. He labeled Gandhi as cowardly and conspiratorial.

In response to Gandhi’s challenge for an open debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chugh fired back, branding him as a “statement-maker” and a coward. He criticized Gandhi for frequently questioning various institutions, including the judiciary and the Election Commission, claiming it has become a habit for him. “He has done nothing in the House,” Chugh remarked.

Chugh challenged Gandhi to provide evidence of his participation in any debate, asserting that he lacks knowledge on relevant issues. He questioned why Gandhi avoids responding to challenges made by Amit Shah regarding the SIR and EVMs, suggesting that the Congress leader prefers to flee when discussions arise.

The BJP leader emphasized that if claims are made in Parliament, they must be substantiated. He accused Gandhi of merely spreading confusion, which is why he often retreats abroad when faced with scrutiny.

Regarding the Congress’s ‘Insaf Rally‘ in Punjab, Chugh questioned Gandhi’s motives, asking why justice has not been served to the families affected by the 1984 Sikh riots. He highlighted a need for accountability regarding Congress leaders implicated in the violence, criticizing the party for glorifying them.

Chugh recalled the tragic events of 1984, where he claimed that under the guidance of the Gandhi-Nehru family, 52 cities were turned into funeral pyres. He recounted how Sikhs were forcibly removed from their homes during the riots, and temples were desecrated. He condemned the Congress party’s insensitivity, citing instances where Congress workers tore down posters of Sikh victims during protests.

He described the Congress as a “shop of love” that merely offers stale promises while aggravating the wounds of the suffering. Chugh called on Punjab Congress leaders to clarify their stance on the massacre, emphasizing that the Congress government had denied justice to victims for 30 years. He accused the Gandhi-Nehru family of complicity in the violence against Sikhs.

On a separate note, Chugh commented on the resignation of National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, mocking the situation by saying that even members of Mehdi’s party are now certifying their own inexperience. He criticized the government led by Omar Abdullah for failing to deliver on its promises, asserting that the entire Jammu and Kashmir region is disillusioned with the administration.
