Pakistani Cricketers Inappropriate Behavior Sparks Controversy at T20 World Cup

New Delhi, March 5: The Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the T20 World Cup has been disappointing, failing to progress beyond the Super 8 stage. Following their exit from the tournament, the team has returned home. However, a recent incident has tarnished the reputation of the already struggling team.

According to reports, a Pakistani player misbehaved with a female staff member while staying at a hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This incident occurred just before Pakistan’s final Super 8 match against the host nation.

Telecom Asia Sport reported, “Before Pakistan’s last Super 8 match against Sri Lanka, a player from the World Cup team misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member.”

The report further states that the staff member called for help, and other hotel staff came to her defense. The incident was then brought to the attention of Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema. The management of the Golden Crown Hotel insisted on a strict resolution, but Cheema apologized on behalf of the player and imposed a fine for the misconduct.

The accused player may also face further disciplinary action from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Disciplinary Committee.

There is a troubling history of inappropriate behavior by Pakistani players and backroom staff during tours. Last year, young batsman Haider Ali was arrested by Manchester police during Pakistan Shaheen’s tour of England on charges related to an incident with a girl. He was presented in court but was released due to lack of evidence.

Additionally, Pakistan team’s masseur Malang Ali was reported for inappropriate behavior with a female staff member during a tour of Malaysia a few years ago and was fined for his actions.
