
Bratislava, June 15: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, on Monday, where he received a warm welcome from the Indian community and Slovak artists. After meeting the Prime Minister, attendees expressed their pride in having met him.
The Indian community hosted a grand reception for PM Modi at the Grand Hotel River Park, presenting him with traditional Slovak bread and salt. Shouts of “Modi-Modi” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed through the venue.
Marek Zilinek, founder and drummer of the Slovak music and spiritual group Mahadeva Kirtan Project, shared, “Our band is called Mahadeva Kirtan Project. I am not a singer, but a drummer. It is a great honor for us. We are grateful to the Indian Embassy in Slovakia for giving us the opportunity to perform in welcome of the Prime Minister.”
Rajendra Prasad, a member of the Indian community, expressed his joy, stating, “I was very happy to meet PM Modi in Bratislava. My eyes were moist, and my heart was filled with pride. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the chance to see and meet him personally.”
Another community member, Nitin Patel, remarked, “I never thought I would get the chance to meet and shake hands with the Prime Minister of India so closely. I really admire his approach to work. I am deeply impressed by his demeanor and dedication.”
Chirag, another member of the community, noted, “It was heartening to know that the Prime Minister of India visited here for the first time. Meeting him was a joy. We hope that positive steps will be taken to address the issues faced by Indians living here.”
Sagar, another community member, added, “We are very happy that our country’s Prime Minister visited Slovakia for the first time. Shaking hands with him was a memorable moment for us.”
The Slovak group Luknica Ensemble performed the Indian national song “Vande Mataram” upon PM Modi’s arrival at the Grand Hotel River Park. One of the artists, Demonica, stated, “My name is Demonica, and today we presented ‘Vande Mataram’ for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with our singing group.”
Another artist from the Luknica Ensemble, Nina, said, “It was truly beautiful; it was an amazing experience, and I think he (PM Modi) liked it. He appreciated our pronunciation and mentioned that we were well-prepared. I believe we did a great job, and we really enjoyed the experience. Thank you.”
