Lucknow, August 15: On Independence Day, over 1.32 lakh schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas across the state echoed with the chant of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’ Under the shade of the tricolor, the new generation’s love for the nation and commitment to nation-building was vividly displayed.
Approximately 14.1 million children participated in the celebrations, saluting the national flag and singing the national anthem and ‘Vande Mataram.’ The school premises were adorned with patriotic colors. Amidst flags, flowers, and vibrant decorations, students remembered the sacrifices of the immortal heroes of freedom through songs, poetry, dance, drama, and tricolor rallies. The enthusiasm of the children saluting the flag and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ added an emotional and inspiring tone to the Independence Day celebrations.
These events reinforced the resolve that an educated and empowered new generation will lay a strong foundation for a developed, united, and self-reliant India. On this occasion, the Director General of School Education, Mrs. Monica Rani, and the Director of Basic Education, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, jointly hoisted the flag at the office of the Directorate of School Education. The message from the Minister of State for Basic Education, Sandeep Singh, was read aloud, emphasizing education as a powerful tool for nation-building and the commitment to building a bright, capable, and responsible future for children.
The Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Ganesh Kumar, and the Director of the State Institute of Educational Technology, Dr. Mukesh Chandra, also hoisted the flag, paying tribute to the national flag. In the presence of Joint Director Dr. Pawan Sachan and Administrative Officer Lav Kumar, the significance of Independence Day was recalled while paying heartfelt homage to the immortal martyrs.
The commitment to the unity, integrity, and progress of the nation was reiterated. Across the state, presentations of patriotic songs, dances, poems, and plays brought the glory of the freedom struggle to life. Various schools organized tricolor rallies. Through debates and sports competitions, children were connected to the history of the freedom struggle, national values, and their responsibilities towards the country. The children’s performances and collective activities transformed Independence Day from a mere formal event into a celebration of learning, participation, and love for the nation.
In the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, students celebrated Independence Day with special enthusiasm. Through songs, poetry, and dramatic presentations, they honored the valor and sacrifices of freedom fighters. Their performances conveyed the message that daughters are playing a crucial role in education, self-reliance, and nation-building. Parents and villagers also enthusiastically participated in the Independence Day celebrations, turning the school programs into community festivals. From villages to cities, the message of unity, brotherhood, love, and patriotism resonated under the tricolor.
