Shiv Sena Demands Election Chiefs Resignation Amid Allegations of Bias and Fraud
Shiv Sena spokesperson Avadhesh Shukla calls for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging election fraud and bias.

Mumbai, October 27 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Avadhesh Shukla has accused the Election Commission of bias and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of manipulating elections. He is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, stating that their protest will continue until he steps down. Shukla characterized this movement as a crucial fight to protect democracy, claiming that as long as Kumar remains in office, the BJP will continue its fraudulent practices.
He announced that over one million people are expected to gather in Delhi on November 1, insisting that Kumar must resign. Shukla criticized the BJP’s current actions, suggesting that the ruling party lacks engagement with public issues. He noted that when the opposition protests against the government, administrative measures are used to suppress them, including blocking trains and using force, while the BJP conducts its own rallies unhindered. He questioned the fairness of preventing the opposition from demonstrating.
In response to comments made by Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shukla stated that the BJP has lost its decorum in political discourse. He pointed out that senior BJP leaders have made disparaging remarks about Rahul Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi. Shukla emphasized that opposition leaders now realize they must respond to the BJP in kind, as failing to do so could alienate them from the public.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s recent acquittal in a defamation case, Shukla mentioned that multiple cases have been filed against him, and he continues to be cleared of charges. He alleged that the BJP is filing false cases to harass opposition leaders, asserting that neither Gandhi nor any other opposition figure will be intimidated by these tactics.
Shukla also raised concerns about electoral fraud in local and by-elections, citing incidents where CCTV cameras were reportedly turned off during voting. Such occurrences, he argued, cast doubt on the Election Commission’s impartiality. He reiterated that Kumar should resign, claiming that the BJP government could potentially collapse in the near future.
