AAP Leader Baltej Pannu Criticizes Congress for Desperation Ahead of 2027 Elections
Baltej Pannu of AAP accuses Congress of desperation, responding to recent statements and raising questions about accountability.
Chandigarh, October 27 (Daily Kiran) : Baltej Singh Pannu, the senior leader and general secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), recently expressed strong criticism of the Congress party’s recent protests and statements made by BJP leaders Ravneet Bittu and Sunil Jakhar. Speaking to reporters in Chandigarh, Pannu addressed allegations made by Jakhar regarding the escape of Harpreet Singh, also known as Harry.
Pannu stated, “Jakhar has claimed that the police aided in Harry’s escape. This incident dates back to 2023. He was in jail and was released on parole, but he failed to return after it ended. According to the letter, he was granted interim bail on January 23, 2024, with a return date set for February 13, 2024, but he did not come back.”
He questioned Jakhar’s sources for claiming police complicity, asserting that Harry was out on bail as per court orders. “To say he was helped to flee is incorrect,” Pannu added.
Regarding Congress’s protests, Pannu remarked, “Congress is panicking. They realize that their time won’t come in 2027 either. They have no answers to the work done by the AAP. When people lack responses, they resort to such behavior.”
Pannu also posed questions to Rahul Gandhi, asking what kind of representatives he has sent to the assembly. He noted that many of these individuals have been elected multiple times yet still lack knowledge of the rules and how to respect fellow members.
Targeting Ravneet Bittu, Pannu highlighted his current situation, noting that Bittu’s Rajya Sabha membership has ended and he is now without a position. “Bittu should visit Hari Ke Patton and watch the recently released film ‘Sutlej,’ which depicts the consequences of his ancestors’ actions. He should acknowledge the lives lost there. To date, he has said nothing about that incident. If he wishes to make personal comments, he should clarify which bottle the individuals responsible for the ‘Katia’ incident were drinking from—was it the same bottle he carries around?”
