New Delhi, April 18: The political atmosphere heated up after the Lok Sabha failed to pass the Nari Vandan Act on Friday. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a sharp attack on the opposition, holding them responsible for the bill’s failure.
He stated that the Congress party and its allies are most troubled by the rights granted to women.
In a response shared on the social media platform ‘X’, Pradhan emphasized that the opposition’s primary objection lies with women’s empowerment. He accused them of trying to divert attention from real issues by raising topics like delimitation. According to him, by opposing this bill in Parliament, the opposition has once again revealed its mindset to the nation.
Pradhan also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of engaging in divisive politics under the guise of women’s rights, OBC issues, and regional disparities. He claimed that Congress has consistently distorted facts for its political gain. Referring to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he noted that during her tenure, the delimitation process was manipulated to serve political interests, alongside measures like the Emergency.
The minister asserted that the bills introduced by the Modi government aim to empower women and serve national interests. However, the opposition’s stance indicates a clear resistance to these efforts. He concluded that the opposition’s attitude is against women’s interests, and the women of the nation are well aware of this reality.
