New Delhi, April 18: Following the rejection of the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, leaders and social activists from various regions have voiced strong reactions. Shambhavi Chaudhary stated that history shows the Congress party has never supported women’s reservation rights.
Chaudhary, a Member of Parliament from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), accused the opposition of spreading falsehoods. She remarked, “Firstly, the opposition is completely lying and attempting to create a false narrative. They are trying to create a division between the North and South of the country.”
Uttar Pradesh government minister O.P. Rajbhar announced plans for a major movement regarding this issue. He stated, “Our party will initiate protests across the state against the fall of this bill. A ‘Women’s Rights Rally’ will be held on May 3, where the truth about the opposition parties will be revealed.”
Rajbhar emphasized, “Through these rallies, we will expose the opposition parties. We will raise awareness among women who are uninformed and unveil the Socialist Party, Congress, and all other opposition parties.”
In Hyderabad, BJP leader T.R. Srinivas also targeted the opposition. He claimed, “From the very first day of the special session of Parliament, the India Block and Congress have been working to undermine this entire issue.”
He criticized opposition leaders for attempting to create confusion by raising the issue of ‘injustice’ towards South India, particularly Tamil Nadu.
Social activist Sushma Mudigonda in Hyderabad expressed her disappointment over the decision. She said, “I am personally disheartened that all opposition parties opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill. I believe the opposition does not understand women’s issues.” Mudigonda also criticized Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, labeling them as ‘nepo kids.’
