
Lucknow, April 18: A high-intensity counter-terrorism mock exercise was conducted at Ayodhya Airport on Saturday to assess the preparedness of security agencies. The drill aimed to enhance coordination and readiness among various agencies in response to evolving security threats.
Organized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), this Counter Terrorist Contingency Mock Exercise (CTMEX) involved several key security and emergency agencies. Each agency demonstrated how they could swiftly act together in the event of a terrorist threat.
Participating agencies included the CISF’s Quick Reaction Team (QRT), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Special Operations Group (SOG), local police, state BDDS, airline staff, state fire services, medical teams, officials from the Airports Authority of India, and the Intelligence Bureau.
The exercise showcased excellent coordination among all agencies, indicating that the security apparatus is fully prepared to handle any emergency situation. It also ensured that response times are minimized, allowing for immediate neutralization of any threats.
The CISF emphasized that the purpose of such mock drills is not only to practice but also to strengthen security measures further. The agency reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s critical aviation infrastructure.
According to the CISF, vigilance, precise strategy, and improved coordination among various agencies are the most effective ways to tackle such threats.
