Mumbai, April 14: Oppo is gearing up to unveil its new compact tablet, the Oppo Pad Mini, designed for users seeking an enhanced gaming and media experience beyond what smartphones can provide. The global launch is confirmed for April 21, coinciding with the debut of the Find X9 Ultra. Pricing details are yet to be revealed.
According to teasers and leaks, the Pad Mini will boast an 8.8-inch OLED display featuring a 3:2 aspect ratio and a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate. The tablet is anticipated to be exceptionally thin at just 5.39mm and weigh approximately 279 grams, making it significantly lighter and slimmer than competitors like Lenovo’s Legion Tab Gen 5.
It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. Although this processor may be around 30 percent slower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in Lenovo’s tablet, it is still projected to deliver robust performance for both gaming and daily tasks.
Additional specifications suggest an 8000mAh battery with 67W fast charging capabilities. The front of the device is likely to feature a punch-hole camera and minimal bezels surrounding the display.
Previous leaks have provided further insights. The display is rumored to have a resolution of 2880×1920, utilizing LTPO technology that can adjust the refresh rate from 1Hz to 144Hz. Peak brightness is expected to reach 1800 nits, along with full DCI-P3 color support.
The tablet is also anticipated to feature a unibody metal design, available in dark gray, purple, and cyan. On the rear, it may include a 13MP camera housed in a capsule-style module. Additionally, eSIM support is mentioned, potentially allowing the device to function without relying solely on Wi-Fi.
