Jaipur, September 1: The leader of the opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Tikaram Julie, has launched a scathing attack on the BJP. He addressed various issues, including the FIR in the ‘purification’ case, GDP growth, rising LPG prices, and the rebellion over municipal election tickets.
In an interview, Tikaram Julie stated, “There is a conspiracy by the BJP and RSS to undermine democracy. The incident in Haldwani is not trivial. The purification that took place after the visit of the party’s national president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, reflects their mindset. This is not the first time they have seized the opportunity to criticize Dalits and backward classes.”
Julie emphasized that the Constitution grants everyone the right to equality and prohibits any form of oppression. He noted that when Rahul Gandhi raised this issue, a case was filed against him instead. “Action should be taken against those who carried out the purification. There are ongoing attempts to dismantle democracy, but Congress will never allow that,” he asserted.
On GDP growth, Tikaram Julie remarked that the government is merely praising itself. He criticized the Prime Minister and Finance Minister for not addressing the dire state of GDP over the past 12 years. “GDP has consistently fallen, while unemployment has risen. The common man is burdened with debt. While an increase in GDP is positive, manipulating figures will not convince anyone. We need to see real improvements in people’s lives, overall prosperity in the country, and benefits for farmers,” he added.
Regarding Finance Minister’s response to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘dead economy’ statement, Julie said, “The state of the economy is evident to everyone. We do not oppose the country’s progress; we want it to advance. Their development is on display for the world.”
Commenting on the rise in commercial LPG cylinder prices, Tikaram Julie stated that the government is continuously imposing inflation on the public. “Prices for CNG, PNG, domestic, and commercial cylinders are being increased one after another. The burden of inflation is being forced upon the people, and they are paying the price. The government needs to monitor this situation,” he insisted.
On the distribution of tickets for municipal elections, he mentioned that the ticket distribution has been commendable across the state. “There may be minor issues, and some individuals may demand tickets, but only one person can be chosen. All our party members are involved, and we will communicate with everyone. It is time to hold the BJP accountable for three years of misgovernance. Our workers are united, and together we will respond to the BJP. The dignity and respect of our workers will always come first, and adjustments will be made for everyone in due time,” he concluded.
