Madhya Pradesh to Monitor Doctors for Improved Healthcare Services

Bhopal, September 1: Efforts to enhance government healthcare services in Madhya Pradesh are ongoing. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has issued directives to ensure the presence of doctors in hospitals.

During a review meeting held at the ministry on Tuesday, Shukla assessed various issues concerning the Public Health and Medical Education Department. He emphasized the need for effective departmental arrangements to provide timely and quality healthcare services to the public.

Shukla instructed that doctors on duty must be present at the designated times. He called for the implementation of necessary monitoring systems to ensure compliance. Regular oversight of doctors’ attendance and performance was also mandated. Furthermore, he prioritized the recruitment process for specialist doctors. The meeting also reviewed ongoing recruitment for other vacant positions within the department.

To expedite the recruitment process and ensure the availability of human resources, Shukla provided necessary instructions. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Public Health and Medical Education, Sukveer Singh, and Commissioner Dhanraju S.

Complaints have been frequently reported from various regions of the state regarding doctors not arriving on time at government hospitals, causing inconvenience to patients. Recently, an outbreak in Balaghat led to child fatalities, and similar incidents in Satna have highlighted the weaknesses in government healthcare services. The government is actively working to rectify these issues, and monitoring doctors is part of this initiative.
