New Delhi, June 17: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated on Tuesday that the sacred land of Mewar has imparted a message of courage, valor, and self-respect to the world. Speaking at an event in Udaipur commemorating Maharana Pratap, Birla emphasized that the life of this great warrior exemplifies patriotism, sacrifice, and the struggle for freedom, serving as a guiding light for current and future generations.
He noted that Maharana Pratap deliberately renounced the comforts of royalty. He dedicated his entire life to serving his people, securing Mewar’s freedom, and upholding the dignity of his community.
Birla further remarked that the struggle of Mewar is unique in history. Despite limited resources, Maharana Pratap fought valiantly alongside the local Bhil community and common people to protect the identity and honor of the nation.
Reflecting on the region’s history, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated that great figures like Maharana Pratap, Rani Padmini, Maharana Kumbha, and Rana Punja will continue to inspire service to the nation. He asserted that the historic battle of Haldighati is not merely confined to textbooks; it has become a living symbol of patriotism and the fight against injustice.
Linking this historical lesson to contemporary goals, Birla urged the youth to work with the same dedication and effort to build a ‘Developed India.’ He emphasized that as India progresses, a sense of dedication, discipline, and responsibility is crucial for the nation.
He added that a truly developed India will preserve its cultural heritage while embracing modern technology. He expressed hope that the inspiring history of Mewar will continually motivate future generations to walk the path of national service and self-respect.
