New Delhi, August 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination. This answer key covers 84 subjects of the UGC-NET exam. Alongside this, the process for filing objections against the answer key has also commenced.
Candidates who participated in the UGC-NET exam can review the relevant questions and answers and submit their objections online within the specified timeframe. According to the NTA, the objection filing process will be open from August 16 until 11:59 PM on August 18. Candidates are advised to submit their objections within this deadline.
It is important to note that the UGC-NET determines eligibility for the position of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. As per the information released by the NTA, candidates who wish to challenge the answer key must pay a fee of ₹200 for each question they contest. This fee applies separately for each objection. To file an objection, candidates must select the relevant question and provide adequate justification and evidence to support their claim.
The challenges received regarding the provisional answer key will be reviewed by subject experts. Following this review, a final answer key will be prepared. Candidates must not only file their objections but also ensure that the fee is paid within the stipulated timeframe. The final deadline for fee payment is 11:59 PM on August 18.
The NTA has advised candidates not to wait until the last moment and to complete the objection and fee payment processes promptly. The agency has also indicated that a different procedure is being followed for the subjects of English, Commerce, and Sociology. A committee has been formed to investigate complaints related to various errors in the question papers for these subjects. This committee will make recommendations based on its findings, and a separate public notice will be issued regarding English, Commerce, and Sociology.
According to the National Examination Agency, candidates related to these three subjects should await the separate public notice. The NTA has urged candidates to rely solely on the official website and verified social media accounts for information regarding the UGC-NET June 2026 answer key, objection process, fees, deadlines, and further actions. The final answer key will be released after expert review of the objections received on the provisional answer key, and the exam results will be prepared based on this final answer key.
