
New Delhi, May 28: The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), along with the Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) in Kalpakkam, has officially announced the recruitment of eligible candidates for a total of 158 apprentice positions.
Among the 158 vacancies, there are 124 positions for Trade Apprentices, 16 for Graduate Apprentices, and 18 for Diploma Apprentices. The Trade Apprentices’ roles include 39 Fitters, 10 Machinists, 6 Turners, 6 Welders, 5 Draftsmen (Mechanical), 18 Electricians, 18 Instrument Mechanics, 18 Electronic Mechanics, 1 Carpenter, 1 Plumber, and 2 Masons.
The 18 Diploma Apprentice positions consist of 6 in Mechanical, 3 in Electrical, 6 in Electronics and Instrumentation, and 3 in Civil. For Graduate Apprentices, there are 16 roles available, including 7 in Human Resources (HR), 3 in Contract and Material Management, 2 in Finance and Accounting, 2 in Health Physics Unit, and 2 in Chemical Laboratory.
The application process for all positions has commenced and the deadline to apply is set for June 30. Candidates interested in these roles are advised to submit their registration forms within the stipulated time frame.
Applicants must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade (full-time/regular mode) from a recognized institution/board/university for Trade Apprentice positions. For Diploma Apprentice roles, a diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant subject (full-time/regular mode) from a state council or technical education board/university/institution is required. Graduate Apprentice candidates should have a degree in non-engineering/general streams (BA, BSc, BCom, etc.) from an AICTE/UGC/state government/central government recognized college/university, including sandwich courses (full-time/regular mode).
The minimum age for applicants is 18 years for Trade and Diploma Apprentice positions, and 21 years for Graduate Apprentice roles, with a maximum age limit ranging from 24 to 28 years, depending on the position. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection will be based on merit-based shortlisting, document verification, medical examination, and police verification. Selected candidates will receive a stipend ranging from ₹10,560 to ₹12,300 per month.

After navigating to the homepage, click on the notification link for the relevant position. Download the application form provided in the notification and print it out. Fill in all required information, attach the necessary documents, and send the completed application in an envelope addressed to: “Deputy Manager (Human Resource Management), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (A Government of India Enterprise), Madras Atomic Power Station, Kalpakkam – 603 102, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu.”
