Two Members of Inter-State Vehicle Theft Gang Arrested in Noida

Noida, June 10: The police in Noida’s Sector 63 have made significant strides in tackling vehicle thefts by arresting two notorious members of an inter-state motorcycle theft gang. Authorities recovered 12 stolen motorcycles and an illegal knife from the suspects. This operation was based on local intelligence and confidential information.

According to police reports, the Sector 63 police team apprehended the two suspects near the Bahalolpur underpass on Tuesday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Masi, son of Vijay Masi, and Naveen, son of Vinod Jha. Both are currently residing in Chhijarsi village and have been involved in vehicle thefts across Noida and the NCR region for an extended period.

During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they would scout deserted areas and locations lacking CCTV cameras. When the opportunity arose, they would steal parked motorcycles. The stolen vehicles were then sold at low prices to passersby, with the proceeds shared between them.

Police suspect that other members of the gang may also be connected to this network, and efforts are underway to locate them. Akash Masi hails from Badaun district, while Naveen is from Vaishali district in Bihar. Both are 24 years old.

According to police records, both suspects have multiple cases registered against them related to vehicle theft, robbery, illegal possession of weapons, and trafficking in stolen goods. Notably, Akash Masi has over 15 criminal cases filed against him in various police stations in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi, while Naveen also has several serious charges against him.

Authorities have begun gathering information regarding the 12 recovered motorcycles to identify their rightful owners and return the vehicles. Police officials state that a strict campaign against criminals will continue, and other suspects involved in theft incidents will be apprehended soon.
