Hyderabad, June 10: A tragic incident occurred in the outskirts of Hyderabad, specifically in Malakajgiri, where a man shot and killed his wife due to marital discord.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Malakajgiri Police Commissionerate. Arun Kumar, a real estate agent residing in Maruti Nagar, fired at his wife, Nisha Rani, during an argument.
On the morning of the incident, Arun had come home to discuss their differences with Nisha. The gunshot resulted in her immediate death, after which Arun fled the scene.
Reports suggest that another individual was present with Arun, raising suspicions that he may have assisted in the crime. Local residents heard the gunshot and promptly alerted the police. The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy to the Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Teams have been formed to apprehend Arun and his accomplice.
The couple had been married for five years. Arun’s first marriage was to Nisha’s elder sister, Swarnalata, with whom he has two children. After divorcing Swarnalata, he entered into a love marriage with Nisha, but recent conflicts had emerged between them.
Three months ago, Arun was caught with a weapon during a police vehicle check in the Amberpet area. Authorities suspect he acquired another firearm through a friend.
In a related note, Hyderabad police have uncovered an illegal adoption racket. They rescued a physically disabled 12-day-old infant, allegedly sold to a childless couple for 1.7 lakh rupees through intermediaries.
A zero FIR was filed at the Kulsumpura police station and forwarded to the Nandigama police station for further investigation based on jurisdiction.
On Tuesday, the police received a formal written complaint from K. Ramu, an officer from Hyderabad’s Women and Child Welfare Department. Following credible information regarding the illegal sale and transfer of the newborn, the department initiated an official inquiry.
Madhu Sudhan and Meena, a couple without children for nearly 18 years, sought help from Potharaju Suresh to conceive. Subsequently, Suresh contacted Padma Palatiya. On May 28, Sandhya, Mohan’s wife, gave birth at a private hospital in Tukku Guda. The couple handed the baby over to Mohan’s relative, Padma.
