Noida Police Uncover Mobile Snatching Gang, Three Arrested

Noida, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : In Noida, police have successfully dismantled a mobile phone snatching gang operating in the area. The Sector-58 police station apprehended three suspects and took two minors into protective custody. Authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle, 22 mobile phones, and two illegal knives from the group.

According to police reports, the suspects used a stolen motorcycle to carry out mobile phone thefts across Noida, Delhi, and the National Capital Region (NCR). On September 17, the police acted on manual intelligence and electronic surveillance, capturing the suspects near Jubilant Park. The arrested individuals have been identified as Atul Gautam, Nitish Chauhan, and Rishu Pandey, with two minors also taken into custody.

The police revealed that the knives were found in the possession of Atul Gautam and Rishu Pandey. Investigations indicated that the gang operated by riding the stolen motorcycle and targeting mobile phones. They focused not only on Noida but also on various locations in Delhi and NCR.

After stealing the mobile phones, the gang disassembled them instead of selling them whole. This method allowed them to obscure the phones’ identities and sell parts in Delhi for profit. Authorities are currently gathering information about the 22 recovered mobile phones to determine how many are linked to reported incidents in Noida or Delhi-NCR.

Police have registered cases against the arrested individuals at the Sector-58 station. They are now interrogating the suspects to uncover details about other gang members, individuals involved in the buying and selling of stolen phones, and previous thefts.
