New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent heartfelt birthday wishes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is celebrating his 76th birthday on September 17. In a special message, Putin acknowledged Modi’s contributions to strengthening the India-Russia partnership and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during the recent BRICS summit held in New Delhi.
The Kremlin shared excerpts of Putin’s message, in which he referred to Modi as a highly respected figure both nationally and globally. He stated, “Your personal contributions to fortifying the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia are commendable.”
Putin’s visit to India for the BRICS summit on September 12-13 included a meeting with Modi, which he also mentioned in his message. He expressed appreciation for the warm welcome received by him and the Russian delegation during their stay in New Delhi, saying, “I want to express my gratitude for the warm and cordial reception we received last week.”
The Russian leader described their bilateral discussions as solid and meaningful, highlighting the joy of engaging with Modi. He noted, “Our talks were undoubtedly substantive, clear, and meaningful. As always, it was a pleasure to speak with you, and our discussions showcased your exceptional political acumen and foresight. We will certainly continue our constructive cooperation on significant bilateral and international issues for the benefit of our friendly nations.”
Modi is India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, currently in his third consecutive term. Before becoming Prime Minister in 2014, he served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for nearly 13 years, beginning in 2001.
