Bhopal, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh, has urged the state government to set a timeline for formulating a policy regarding guest faculty employed in colleges. This request came during a meeting with a delegation of guest faculty members who presented their concerns.
The representatives informed Singh that on September 11, 2023, then-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the cessation of the fallout process during a grand assembly of guest faculty. They also recounted an incident from August 28, 2026, when current Chief Minister Mohan Yadav assured female guest faculty in Ujjain that the fallout process would be halted until a regularization policy was established.
Despite these assurances, Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar has stated that the fallout process will continue. Many guest faculty members, who have served for decades, are facing termination. Singh expressed his support for the faculty’s demands, stating that the Congress Party stands by them.
He called on the state government to establish a definitive timeline for creating a policy that would ensure regularization and stability for guest faculty. Singh emphasized that these educators have been providing their services for an extended period and have consistently sought regularization. While the government has promised to create such a policy, implementation has been lacking.
