Raipur, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister and leader of the Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, criticized the Congress and the opposition, urging them to engage in self-reflection instead of continuously questioning the electoral process and democratic institutions. His comments came in response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks about canceling elections, as well as Rahul Gandhi‘s digital “Satyagraha” platform and ongoing concerns related to the SIR.
Speaking to reporters, Paswan questioned whether Congress was also addressing elections in states like Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. He emphasized that if the electoral process is under scrutiny, Congress should clarify whether the elections of its own MPs, who were elected through the same process, should also be annulled.
Paswan pointed out that prominent Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, along with nearly 100 other MPs, were elected to Parliament. He asserted that those questioning the electoral process should also take a clear stance on the election of their own party leaders.
On engaging with the youth, Paswan noted that his party has been actively working in this direction. He stated that the youth represent the future of the nation and will play a crucial role in transforming India into a developed country in the coming years. Therefore, maintaining dialogue with young people through various platforms is essential.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s digital “Satyagraha” platform, Paswan welcomed the initiative, stating that it provides more avenues for youth and common citizens to voice their opinions. He acknowledged the thoughtful naming of the platform by Gandhi.
Addressing the doubts among the youth regarding the SIR, Paswan revealed that he approached the Election Commission due to these concerns. He recognized that many citizens may genuinely have doubts about the issue, and the opposition’s repetitive focus on the same topic could lead to confusion among the public.
He explained that when a point is reiterated frequently, it may begin to appear as the truth to people. Therefore, if such doubts are reaching the younger generation, it is crucial to dispel them.
Paswan affirmed his commitment to the system and expressed confidence that there should be no room for doubt in this matter. He referenced the role of political party BLA (Booth Level Agents) in ensuring that no wrongful actions occur against any individual.
On electoral decisions within his party, Paswan mentioned that he has granted state units of the Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas) the freedom to make decisions based on local circumstances and electoral equations.
