The long wait for thousands of fashion design aspirants across India is about to end — the NIFT Final Result 2025 is set to be released soon. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this year’s exam drew candidates for undergraduate (B.Des, B.FTech) and postgraduate (M.Des, MFM, M.FTech) courses.

Once released, candidates can check their results by visiting the official portal: exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. The final merit list will be compiled by adding marks from the CAT (Creative Ability Test), GAT (General Ability Test), and Stage 2 components — such as Situation Test or Personal Interview, depending on the program.

What Information Will Be Available in the Result?

Each candidate’s scorecard will display:

  • Name and roll number

  • Total and section-wise marks

  • Overall rank

  • Qualified status

You’ll also need your application number and date of birth to access the result, so keep those details ready.

What’s Next? Counselling Process Begins Soon

Once the results are declared, the much-anticipated NIFT 2025 counselling process will begin — an important phase where aspirants take their first steps toward realizing their dreams in the world of fashion.

Selected candidates will go through key stages such as:

  • Seat allotment

  • Document verification

  • Course selection

The official counselling schedule will soon be published on nift.ac.in.

Two Ways to Get a Seat at NIFT

There are two main pathways for securing a seat at NIFT:

  1. Centralized Online Counselling:
Students select their preferred campus and course online. Seats are allocated based on merit and choices filled.

  2. Spot Round / Mop-Up Round:
If seats remain vacant after online rounds, a spot or mop-up round is held — usually offline on campus — where available seats are filled on a first-come-first-served basis, again based on merit.

What If Two Students Score the Same?

In case of a tie:

  • Higher marks in CAT will be given priority.

  • If the tie persists, age and academic qualifications will be used to determine rank — ensuring clarity in the merit list.

What Should Students Do Now?

Once you download your scorecard:

  • Explore your options — research campuses and courses.

  • Start shortlisting preferences — this will help during the seat selection process.

  • Keep an eye on official announcements so you can act promptly during counselling rounds.

This is the moment where your exciting journey into the world of fashion, textiles, and design truly begins!
