Saharanpur, June 25: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a young man from Saharanpur on charges of plotting an attack on the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The suspect was apprehended in the Davanagere region of Karnataka.
According to investigative agencies, the accused had been under surveillance for some time, with reports indicating connections to several suspicious organizations and individuals. The NIA conducted the operation in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
The arrested individual, identified as Mohammad Suhail, was reportedly working as a painter while concealing his identity in the Davanagere area. During the investigation, agencies uncovered several crucial leads from his possession and digital devices. Sources indicate that images of Suhail have emerged, showing him with weapons. Forensic analysis of these images and other digital evidence is currently underway.
Preliminary investigations are also probing the suspect’s alleged connections to Pakistan. Security agencies are working to determine his contacts and whether he was part of a larger network. Reports suggest that he was linked to several suspicious online groups and social media platforms.
