New Delhi, July 24: The Delhi Police is on high alert in response to the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) protests. These demonstrations are impacting the Delhi Metro, often referred to as the lifeline of the Delhi-NCR region. Consequently, several metro stations have been closed until further notice.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) issued a crucial travel advisory on Thursday, stating, “From 7:30 AM on July 24 (Friday), entry and exit services at several key metro stations will be suspended until further notice. However, some major interchange stations will still allow passengers to change lines.”
In an official post on the social media platform X, DMRC explained, “This decision has been made considering safety and operational arrangements. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes.”
According to DMRC, the metro stations that will remain closed from 7:30 AM until further notice include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, and Jhandewalan.
DMRC also clarified that interchange facilities will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations. Passengers will be able to change metro lines at these stations, but entry and exit will not be permitted.
Earlier on Wednesday, 16 metro stations were also closed for security reasons. However, interchange facilities were provided at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations.
The DMRC reiterated on the social media platform X that the following metro stations will remain closed until further notice: Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, and Shivaji Stadium.
