Raipur, June 25: Sachin Pilot, the senior leader and state in-charge of the Chhattisgarh Congress, launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and various governments during a media interaction in Raipur. He addressed several issues, including the alleged land purchase scandal linked to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s family, the Ram Temple fund controversy, Congress training camps, and the Emergency.
Pilot described the revelations regarding significant land acquisitions by real estate companies associated with CM Mohan Yadav’s family in Ujjain as a serious matter. He emphasized that the allegations implicating the Chief Minister and his family in a major land-related issue are alarming.
He questioned why the BJP adopts double standards when it comes to ethics, corruption, and the misuse of power. Pilot pointed out that there has been no clear response to the allegations reported in the newspapers, making it a topic of national discussion. He referenced Prime Minister Modi‘s old slogan, “Neither will I take bribes nor will I let others,” suggesting that the current situation appears to contradict this promise.
Regarding the Ram Temple fund controversy, Pilot expressed strong disapproval, stating that theft or misconduct in the name of donations for Lord Ram is a grave sin. He urged the government to conduct an impartial investigation, regardless of which political party is implicated. If political parties do not hesitate to seek votes in the name of God, they should also not shy away from investigating the alleged donation scam or misuse of funds. Pilot accused both the state and central governments of failing to initiate any investigation into this matter.
On the ongoing training camps for Congress district presidents in Chhattisgarh, Pilot advised BJP leaders to focus on their own party and the promises made to the public rather than worrying about Congress. He highlighted that Congress is a 135-year-old party, and the new district presidents are being trained to expose BJP’s conspiracies, false promises, and misleading politics.
Pilot also reacted to the inclusion of a new chapter on the Emergency in NCERT’s Class 9 textbooks and the BJP’s observance of Constitution Day and Black Day. He remarked that everyone can interpret history from their perspective. Whenever the BJP forms a government at the state or central level, they attempt to present history, literature, and textbooks in their own way.
The former Deputy CM of Rajasthan concluded by stating that while this may be the BJP government’s objective, the nation must also pay attention to the current challenges facing democracy. He noted that the challenges to democracy in independent India have never been as severe as they are today.
