New Developments in Twisha Sharma Case Following Burglary at Retired Judges Home

Bhopal, June 29: A burglary at the home of retired judge Giribala Singh has introduced a new twist in the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case. This incident occurred just as Singh and his son, Samarth Singh, are set to appear in court after completing a 14-day judicial custody.

This latest development comes weeks after a video of an attack on witness Neeraj Dubey in the Sharma case went viral on social media. Although police investigated the incident, they found no official link between the attack and the burglary.

Both incidents have drawn renewed attention to the ongoing investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) ahead of the court hearing scheduled for Tuesday. The CBI is expected to present Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh in court.

During the previous hearing, both appeared virtually from Bhopal Central Jail. It remains to be seen whether they will join the proceedings again via video conferencing or appear in person.

The burglary took place at Singh’s residence in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal. According to police, more than four masked individuals entered through the back upper gate during the night of June 27-28 and executed the theft.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajneesh Kashyap stated that CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained and is currently under analysis. Police teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend the suspects, but no arrests have been made so far.

“The CCTV footage is available, and efforts to identify the culprits are ongoing. Teams have been dispatched to locate them,” ACP Kashyap said.

The police have yet to confirm the exact details of the stolen items. According to Giribala Singh’s eldest son, some gold and silver jewelry was taken from the home.

Kashyap added, “He informed us that gold and silver jewelry was stolen, but he could not specify the quantity. Accurate information will be available after consulting with the family.”

He also mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing.

This burglary has raised concerns for the complainant side in the Twisha Sharma case. Anurag Srivastava, the lawyer for Sharma’s family, expressed that this incident has sparked new worries regarding security in the area. They were previously assured that the accused were in jail and that there would be no tampering with evidence or belongings at the home. However, this incident has revealed that access to the house was alarmingly easy.

The police have clarified that the burglary investigation is being conducted separately from the CBI investigation into Twisha Sharma’s death.
