Tripura Assembly: A Symbol of Dedication and Struggle, Says Jitendra Chaudhary

Agartala, July 1: On the occasion of the 63rd foundation day of the Tripura Assembly, opposition leader and CPI(M) MLA Jitendra Chaudhary highlighted the historical significance and democratic evolution of the assembly. He emphasized that this day is of immense importance and joy for everyone.

In his address, Chaudhary not only remembered those involved in the establishment of the assembly but also paid tribute to the leaders who represented the public during the time of the Tripura Territorial Council. He honored all the late representatives who contributed to strengthening the state’s democratic framework.

He stated that the Tripura Assembly is not merely a building; it is the result of the sacrifices, dedication, and struggles of countless individuals who worked to establish and fortify democracy. Many have devoted their entire lives to the creation of this institution.

The opposition leader remarked that the history of this assembly is not solely linked to the construction of its building but is rooted in Tripura’s historical background when it was a princely state. During that time, there were widespread movements demanding a democratic system in place of the monarchical rule.

He paid homage to all those who fought for the establishment of democracy and contributed to strengthening the system of public representation. He noted that today, every five years, the public elects their representatives, thereby reinforcing democratic traditions.

Jitendra Chaudhary also mentioned that regardless of their political affiliations or whether they are independents, all representatives have collectively advanced the dignity of the assembly and democratic values.

The Governor of Tripura, addressing the event, expressed his honor and privilege to stand before everyone on this special occasion of the 63rd foundation day of the Tripura Assembly. He extended heartfelt congratulations to every member, official, and employee of the assembly, as well as to the 4 million citizens of Tripura, who are the true stakeholders of our democracy.
