New Collector of Sidhi District Reviews Progress on First Day in Office

Mumbai, March 26: The newly appointed Collector of Sidhi District, Vikas Mishra, has commenced his duties by holding a series of meetings with various departmental officials to review progress.

He emphasized the need for sensitivity and promptness in addressing public grievances. Mishra stated that the primary objective of the administration should be to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in line.

In this context, he chaired a meeting with education department officials on Thursday to assess the progress of the government’s approach to enhancing the quality of education in the district.

The Collector instructed that innovative methods should be encouraged in all schools to increase student interest and make the learning process more effective. He also directed officials to ensure that school laboratories are fully operational for practical exercises. Additionally, he stressed the importance of organizing and streamlining libraries in each school.

In a statement on Thursday, he noted that libraries should not merely serve as formalities but should become powerful tools for enriching students’ knowledge. Regular usage of these facilities must be ensured.

During the meeting, Mishra also issued specific instructions regarding preparation for competitive exams. He directed that resources and guidance be provided to students for exams like NEET and JEE, enabling rural students to compete effectively.

He mentioned that whenever improvements are needed, specific strategies should be developed and implemented to ensure significant enhancements in the district’s overall examination results. Better performance is expected from all departments.

Mishra, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 2013 batch, was appointed as Collector following the transfer of former Collector Swaroichish Somvanshi during Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Sidhi on March 22.

Yadav interacted with citizens in Sidhi and reviewed the implementation of administrative arrangements and schemes. He also ordered the immediate suspension of PS Dhanwal, the General Manager of the Sidhi District Cooperative Bank.

The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the construction of the Collectorate building in Sidhi and instructed officials to expedite the work while maintaining quality to meet the deadline.

Notably, after taking charge on Wednesday, Mishra first inspected the under-construction Collectorate building and chaired a meeting with officials in his office.
