New Delhi, June 21: The re-conducted NEET UG 2026 examination, following a paper leak controversy, has stirred a range of emotions among students. A candidate from Mangaluru, Karnataka, expressed joy when the re-examination was announced, as he had not succeeded in his first attempt. He stated that he prepared thoroughly this time and is confident about performing well.
Conversely, another candidate from Bengaluru shared his disappointment upon hearing the exam was canceled, having dedicated two years to his preparation. He mentioned it took him considerable time to overcome that setback and resume studying. Now, he is focused solely on the upcoming exam and aims to give his best.
Another Bengaluru student conveyed mixed feelings about the decision to hold the re-exam. He acknowledged that uncovering the paper leak and organizing a fair re-test was necessary, as some individuals had prior access to the question paper. However, he also sympathized with those students who sacrificed their sleep and comfort for extensive preparation.
In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, a student remarked that the consequences of one person’s mistake affect all students. He emphasized that this issue impacts children across the nation, not just a select few. Meanwhile, another student welcomed the decision to grant an additional 15 minutes for the exam, stating it provided extra time to write answers, which was a relief.
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a parent named Rajkumar shared that his son’s first exam went exceptionally well but was unfortunately canceled. This led to renewed mental and academic challenges for his son, who remained positive throughout the ordeal.
Another parent in Chennai, Ammu Shibu, noted that after a long wait of about a month and a half, students gathered the courage to retake the exam. She reported that the arrangements at the examination center were commendable, with facilities in place for parents, ensuring a smooth and organized process.
