New Delhi, April 2: Political tensions are rising over the availability of petrol, diesel, and LPG in India. Accusations are flying between ruling party and opposition MPs. JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha defended the government, stating that the Prime Minister has consistently assured that the government is closely monitoring fuel supply.
Speaking to reporters, Jha mentioned that this information was also shared in an all-party meeting, emphasizing that the situation on the ground remains stable. He asserted that there is no shortage of LPG or petrol-diesel, accusing the opposition of spreading unnecessary confusion.
BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana criticized the opposition for creating a climate of fear among the public. He claimed that the Congress and its allies are only focused on causing chaos, while the citizens have no reason to panic.
Khatana highlighted the diversification efforts in the energy sector under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, asserting that the country is well-equipped to handle any crisis. He referenced the COVID-19 pandemic as an example, expressing confidence that India will successfully navigate the current situation as well.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also targeted the opposition, stating that Rahul Gandhi’s claims regarding a fuel shortage have been completely debunked. He noted that while other countries face restrictions, India’s situation remains stable, a fact the opposition seems unwilling to accept. Joshi lamented that in their opposition to the Prime Minister, the opposition has begun to oppose the nation itself, which he finds unfortunate.
During this discourse, Pralhad Joshi also commented on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), stating that there should be no issue if any state wishes to implement it.
Meanwhile, following the Supreme Court’s order for an investigation into the Malda incident, political reactions have emerged. BJP MP Ravi Kishan expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court while voicing concerns over the safety of BJP workers in West Bengal, claiming they are facing ongoing violence.
BJP MP Rekha Sharma described the incident as unfortunate, noting that every issue in West Bengal is viewed through a political lens. She expressed hope that the public will make their decision known after the elections.
