New Delhi, March 15: With just one day left for the Rajya Sabha elections, political leaders are making every effort to secure victory.
Bihar’s Deputy Speaker and Janata Dal (United) leader, Narendra Narayan Yadav, expressed confidence that the NDA will win all five seats. He stated, “We should have faith that the NDA will secure all seats.”
On the other hand, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput claimed that the INDIA alliance has the potential to win in the Rajya Sabha elections. He mentioned to a news agency that the INDIA alliance and our grand coalition are fully capable of strategizing for victory. Whether the BJP and JD(U) choose to collaborate is up to them. However, we are confident that under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), we will ensure the victory of our candidate.
Bihar government minister and BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav asserted that the RJD will lose the elections. He remarked that Tejashwi Yadav will not last and will fall behind. “Their votes will come to us. Who would want to lead their future into darkness by staying in the RJD? Anyone who wishes to secure their future and remain in politics is joining us.”
Highlighting the battle for the fourth Rajya Sabha seat in Bihar, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra stated, “We are willing to accept that four seats will go to the NDA, but the fifth seat will definitely belong to the grand coalition, that is, the INDIA bloc.”
It is noteworthy that ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, various parties are holding meetings with their legislators. In this context, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “Since this is a biennial Rajya Sabha election, it is natural for our component parties to hold collective meetings. Responsibilities are being assigned during these meetings, such as how voting will take place and what the process will be. The role of the legislators is paramount here, not that of the Legislative Council. We have come to show our support in this meeting.”
Voting for the biennial elections to fill 37 Rajya Sabha seats across ten states will take place on Monday. The states include Maharashtra (7), Tamil Nadu (6), Bihar (5), West Bengal (5), Odisha (4), Assam (3), Telangana (2), Chhattisgarh (2), Haryana (2), and Himachal Pradesh (1).
