Nawazuddin Siddiqui Continues Filming Tumbbad 2 During Eid Celebrations

Mumbai, May 28: The festival of Eid ul-Azha is being celebrated worldwide. However, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is seen working during this festive time. He is currently busy filming the horror movie sequel, ‘Tumbbad 2,’ which he describes as a “working festival.”

Providing an update on the shoot, Nawazuddin stated, “This is going to be a working festival for me. I am shooting for ‘Tumbbad 2’ even on Eid. I am extremely excited to present this character to the audience as it has many layers.”

The original film, ‘Tumbbad,’ released in 2018, received acclaim for its unique story, period horror style, and stunning cinematography. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi, the film featured Soham Shah in the lead role.

‘Tumbbad’ was based on the quest for hidden treasures in the village of Tumbbad, Maharashtra. It premiered at the Venice Film Festival, making it the first Indian film to be showcased there.

‘Tumbbad 2’ is being directed by Aadesh Prasad. The film is produced under the banners of Soham Shah Films and Pen Studios, with distribution handled by Pen Marudhar.

In April, the makers released the film’s poster, announcing that ‘Tumbbad 2’ will hit theaters on December 3, 2027. The poster caption reads, “A sinful past, a terrifying future. Hunger grows, the legacy of greed continues…”

According to the filmmakers, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character is set to elevate the film to new heights. The actor himself expressed enthusiasm, stating that this role encompasses many emotional and narrative layers that he is eager to portray.
