New Delhi, May 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for energy and fuel conservation is receiving widespread support across the country. Leaders from various states, including chief ministers and ministers, are backing this initiative.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated, “Prime Minister Modi has called upon the people to save energy with a spirit of putting the nation first. It is our duty. Not only we, but the entire country is following his guidelines. We must cooperate with each other to conserve energy.”
BJP spokesperson R.P. Singh defended the rise in fuel prices, saying, “The country’s economic situation is quite stable. Our GDP growth is among the best in the world. Industrial growth and inflation are under control. Yes, there is some pressure on foreign exchange reserves; this is why the prices of petrol, diesel, and CNG have increased.”
Maharashtra NCP MLC Zeeshan Siddiqui emphasized, “The public should adhere to the Prime Minister’s appeal. He has urged us to save fuel, work from home, and reduce unnecessary vehicle use. We have set an example by reducing the number of vehicles in the convoys of all ministers.”
Uttar Pradesh government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar noted, “This is a matter related to the nation. The Prime Minister has made this appeal in the interest of the country. With the Iran-US conflict potentially dragging on, the public has been urged to avoid unnecessary vehicle use. Leaders and ministers have been strictly instructed to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys. Everyone is following this appeal.”
Following PM Modi’s appeal, many states are implementing fuel-saving measures at both government and political levels. Numerous ministers and legislators are now traveling via buses, metros, and with fewer vehicles in their convoys.
