Ghaziabad, June 16: A fierce fire erupted late Monday night around midnight at Baba Market in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. The blaze affected 4 to 5 shops, creating chaos in the area.
Upon receiving the alert, the fire department promptly dispatched teams to the scene and initiated a large-scale rescue and firefighting operation.
According to fire officials, multiple fire engines were sent from the Kotwali fire station as soon as the incident was reported. Given the severity of the fire, a total of 8 fire tenders and several water tankers were deployed to the site. Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the flames and prevent further spread.
Fire officer Rahul Pal Singh noted that the shutters of the affected shops were extremely sturdy and securely closed. This delay hindered firefighters’ access to the interior. To reach the fire, they had to cut through the shutters. Once inside, the firefighting team began their efforts to extinguish the flames.
After several hours of hard work, the fire department successfully brought the blaze under control. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties from this incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the fire department along with relevant authorities is investigating the matter. Timely action helped avert a major disaster and safeguarded nearby shops.
