National Commission for Women Summons Singer Badshah Over Controversial Song Tattiari

Mumbai, March 19: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued a summons to singer Badshah regarding his recently released song ‘Tattiari’, following action taken against the controversial track “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the upcoming film KD: The Devil. All individuals associated with the song have been directed to appear on March 25 with relevant documents.

The NCW announced its action via social media, stating, “Exercising its powers under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, the NCW has taken cognizance of media reports alleging obscenity and indecency in the song ‘Tattiari’. The commission found that, at first glance, the content appears objectionable and violates provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.”

Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, known as Badshah (singer and songwriter), along with director Mahi Sandhu, director Joban Sandhu, and producer Hiten, have been summoned to appear before the commission at 12:30 PM on March 25. Failure to appear may result in appropriate legal action.

Additionally, the NCW has also summoned individuals associated with the film KD: The Devil and the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke”, ordering them to appear on March 24. This includes actress Nora Fatehi, Rakib Alam, actor Sanjay Dutt, producer Venkat K. Narayan (KVN Group), and the director.

Badshah’s song ‘Tattiari’ has also been removed from social media platforms due to controversies surrounding government buses, school uniforms, and the song’s lyrics. Earlier, the Haryana State Women’s Commission had taken action in this matter, leading to two FIRs against the singer in Haryana. In light of the escalating controversy, the singer publicly apologized.
