Golu Pandit Sent to Judicial Custody in Rohit Shetty Shooting Case

Mumbai, April 1: In a significant development in the shooting incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu, 14 individuals have been arrested, and the Crime Branch is conducting an extensive investigation.

On Wednesday, Golu Pandit, the accused, was presented in court after spending 11 days in police custody. The court has now sent him to judicial custody. Golu Pandit’s lawyer claims they have strongly presented their case in court.

Dilip Shukla, the advocate for Golu Pandit, also known as Pradeep Sharma, stated in an interview that the court denied the police’s request for further custody and opted for judicial detention instead. Although Golu had already been in police custody for 11 days, the police argued that further questioning was necessary for additional investigation. However, the grounds for their request were deemed repetitive.

The Crime Branch indicated that Golu was in contact with the main shooter, but they informed the court that he was not present in Mumbai at the time of the incident. The police also presented Golu’s previous criminal cases to the court, but none were related to the current case, and he has already been granted bail by the Rajasthan High Court.

Advocate Dilip Shukla further noted that despite 11 days in custody, the police have not recovered any evidence against the accused. This lack of incriminating evidence during questioning was a key reason the court denied the police further custody.

It is important to mention that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting at the director’s home. Actor Ranveer Singh also received a threatening voice note, warning both him and Rohit Shetty to change their ways. The voice note, which included threats to Ranveer Singh and his family, was sent to the actor’s manager. The police are currently investigating this voice note as well.
