New Delhi, September 12 (Patrika English News): Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative Nand Ghar has launched a nationwide campaign to mark Poshan Maah 2025, reaching over 3.5 lakh families across 15 states. The program, which modernizes Anganwadis into hubs of nutrition, education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment, aims to combat malnutrition and promote holistic rural development.

Themed “Poshan Se Pragati”, the month-long campaign is being run in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development. It focuses on raising awareness, encouraging healthy dietary practices, and promoting sustainable nutrition solutions tailored to rural communities.

Three-Pronged Nutrition Model

At the core of Nand Ghar’s efforts is a threefold strategy:

  • Direct Nutrition Support: Providing fortified supplements, innovations like Nutri Bars and protein shakes, and improved access to government nutrition programs.

  • Community Sensitization: Training parents and caregivers, monitoring child growth, and encouraging families to adopt simple, sustainable practices using local and indigenous foods.

  • Technology & Partnerships: Using digital tools and institutional tie-ups to track children’s health, deliver timely interventions, and introduce innovative food solutions.

On-Ground Campaigns

From September 12, Nand Ghars across the country are hosting recipe demonstrations, parent training sessions on maternal health and child nutrition, and growth monitoring activities. Special engagements under the banner “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” are also highlighting the link between healthy diets and better learning outcomes for children.

Leadership Speak

Poshan Maah is an important reminder of how critical nutrition is to India’s progress. At Nand Ghar, we are committed to ensuring every child and mother in rural India has access to the right nutrition and knowledge to build a healthier future,” said Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar.

Addressing Malnutrition in India

The initiative comes as India continues to battle malnutrition. According to NFHS-5, 37.5% of children under six are stunted, while 50% of women of reproductive age are anaemic. Nand Ghar’s approach aims to complement the government’s mission of reversing these trends and building a healthier generation.

Impact So Far

With proven success, Nand Ghar’s Poshan Maah 2025 campaign focuses on scaling innovations, strengthening community practices, and promoting locally sourced foods to transform grassroots nutrition in India.
