Mumbai, July 23: Actress Nafisa Ali is bravely battling stage-4 peritoneal and ovarian cancer. Despite her health challenges, she recently completed filming “Max, Min and Miyozaki” while trekking at an altitude of 11,000 feet. Director Padmakumar is deeply impressed by her extraordinary spirit, dedication, and courage.
In an interview, Padmakumar described Nafisa as a symbol of positivity and resilience. He stated, “Nafisa is a person with positive thinking and strong values. She is a social activist who raises her voice for the people. Nafisa embodies a secular mindset. This film has brought together individuals who share similar thoughts and humanitarian values.”
He added, “This film serendipitously united us all, but it is also a gathering of like-minded individuals. We hope for a world filled with love, warmth, and humanity, and Nafisa is the best example of that thinking. Everyone associated with this film shares the desire for humanity to move forward as one family, because we are all united. Nafisa is a true embodiment of this sentiment. Reflecting on the shooting days, Director Padmakumar recalled Nafisa’s childlike innocence. Her playful demeanor kept the atmosphere on set joyful. He remarked, “Nafisa often engaged everyone in laughter, mischief, and playful teasing. Her nature was just like that of a child, and because of her, the entire set was light-hearted and filled with happiness.”
Nafisa has been fighting cancer for the past eight years. She was first diagnosed with stage-3 cancer in 2018. After recovering, the illness returned, and she is now facing stage-4 cancer.
