Noida, August 27: Despite a temporary lull in monsoon activity, the weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) may see a shift at the beginning of September. According to local forecasts from the meteorological department, heavy rainfall is not anticipated between August 28 and September 1 in Delhi-NCR. During this period, the sky may be partially cloudy, and sunshine could lead to a slight increase in maximum temperatures.
However, light rain or drizzles in some areas may increase humidity levels. On August 27, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 34 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 26 degrees. Generally, the day will be overcast, with a possibility of light rain or drizzles. Following this, on August 28, the maximum temperature is forecasted to be 35 degrees, with a minimum of 26 degrees.
The weather is expected to remain partially cloudy, with no heavy rainfall predicted. On August 29, temperatures may rise further, reaching a maximum of 36 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius. The same maximum temperature is expected on August 30, while on August 31 and September 1, the maximum is forecasted to be 35 degrees with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.
Both days are expected to have partially cloudy skies. As rainfall activity decreases in NCR, fluctuations in air quality have been observed. In Anand Vihar, Delhi, the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 329, placing it in the red zone.
In comparison, Ashok Vihar recorded an AQI of 124, Aaya Nagar 93, Bawana 207, Burari Crossing 102, Delhi Cantt 34, Chandni Chowk 133, Commonwealth Sports Complex 98, and CRRI Mathura Road 103. Anand Vihar reported the worst air quality in Delhi, with an AQI of 329, followed by Bawana at 207 and Chandni Chowk at 133. Meanwhile, Delhi Cantt had the lowest AQI at 34 among these stations.
In Noida, monitoring stations showed varying AQI levels. Sector 125 recorded an AQI of 156, Sector 62 at 93, and Sector 116 at 170, indicating that Sector 116 had the worst air quality, while Sector 62 was comparatively better.
In Ghaziabad, the AQI levels were recorded as follows: Govindpuram at 64, Indirapuram at 113, Loni at 161, Sanjay Nagar at 84, Vasundhara at 124, and Ved Vihar-Loni at 103. Meteorological experts suggest that the current decrease in rainfall and increased sunshine may lead to higher temperatures and humidity levels. Consequently, the weather may feel warmer and more humid in the coming days. However, with the resurgence of monsoon activity expected at the beginning of September, NCR may experience another round of rainfall.
