Ministry of Defence Hosts Mega Job Fair for Veterans in New Delhi

New Delhi, March 20: The Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) under the Ministry of Defence has organized a significant job fair for veterans in New Delhi. This event took place at the Aravali Auditorium near the Shankar Vihar Metro Station in Delhi Cantonment.

A representative from the Ministry of Defence stated that the job fair commenced at 7 AM at the auditorium. Veterans were advised to bring their identification cards and five copies of their resumes.

According to DGR, employers from various industries will benefit from this fair, which includes free online registration, complimentary job postings, free stall allocations, and unrestricted access to veterans’ resumes.

Previously, on March 17, the Ministry of Defence held a job fair in Chandigarh. An official statement indicated that these job fairs serve as a special platform connecting veterans from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force with leading employers in corporate and industrial sectors. Key areas include security, IT, administration, logistics, healthcare, and engineering.

In a statement regarding the job fair in Delhi, the Ministry of Defence emphasized that this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of veterans. It ensures that veterans are recognized for their discipline, leadership skills, and technical expertise—qualities that are highly sought after in the civilian job market.

Throughout the fiscal year 2025-26, DGR is set to conduct 18 job fairs across various locations in India. So far, 17 job fairs have been held in cities including Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kolkata, Secunderabad, Jammu, Bhopal, Kochi, Guwahati, Dehradun, Bengaluru, Pune, and Chandigarh.

Veterans are given the opportunity to showcase their talents to employers who understand and appreciate the unique value that veterans bring to the workforce.

Upon registration, employers gain free access to a pool of dedicated, skilled, and mission-ready professionals’ resumes. They can plan interviews ahead of the job fair and select shortlisted candidates.
