Minister Sanjay Nishad Criticizes Mani Shankar Aiyars Remarks on India-Pakistan Relations

Lucknow, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : The political climate in Uttar Pradesh has intensified following Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks regarding India-Pakistan relations. State minister Sanjay Nishad has voiced strong criticism, asserting that statements concerning national interests should prioritize the country above all else.

Nishad emphasized, “Statements should be in the interest of the nation. The nation is paramount, and everyone should be dedicated to it. There should be a sense of duty towards the country.”

He also targeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, along with Akhilesh Yadav and the SP-Congress alliance, questioning their stance on Muslim reservations. Nishad remarked that these leaders act as “contractors” for Muslims, blaming them for not ensuring representation over the years.

He recalled that in 1930, poor Muslims received reservations, and in 1931, the Nishad community took the lead. When Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru came to power in 1950, he allegedly stated that Muslims did not need a party. According to Nishad, those who have taken away Muslim reservations are the same individuals now allied with Congress.

Regarding Owaisi’s comments about Akhilesh Yadav, Nishad stated that Muslims are citizens of India too. He warned that attempts to divide communities for votes would not yield any electoral success. “By engaging in such politics, they are distancing Muslims from democracy,” he added.

On the tensions between the Samajwadi Party and Congress over seat allocations, Nishad noted that all parties are in disarray. “While they may appear united, their ideologies are fundamentally opposed,” he said.

Nishad further mentioned a recent incident in Gorakhpur, stating that if Akhilesh Yadav did not comply, a protest was planned. He warned that any disrespect towards the Nishad community would not be tolerated and that party leaders must take responsibility for such occurrences.
