Minister Nath Calls for Unity to Build Developed Tripura and Supports Governors Vision for Progress

Agartala, March 17: Tripura’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized the importance of unity in building a ‘Developed Tripura’ during a recent assembly session. He stated that the Governor’s address reflects a strong commitment to democratic governance, development, and people-centric policies.

Speaking during the discussion on the Governor’s speech, Nath described it as a constitutional reflection of governance and a comprehensive framework for the state’s progress. He remarked, “The Governor’s address is not merely a formal statement; it serves as a roadmap for development, progress, and welfare initiatives. It clearly highlights the efforts being made under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha.”

Nath praised the Governor for delivering the speech in Bengali and the indigenous Kokborok language, calling it a significant and inclusive step. He noted that the address included all segments of society, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, journalists, artists, and marginalized communities, reflecting the spirit of inclusive development.

Highlighting the broader national context, Nath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accelerating rapid development across the country. He stated that India has emerged as the fourth-largest economy and is on track to become the third-largest. He referenced the global recognition of the country’s development pace.

As the second most senior minister after the Chief Minister, Nath identified key national initiatives, such as infrastructure expansion, agricultural development, and renewable energy programs like the National Solar Mission, as significant contributors to this progress.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment, he emphasized efforts to ensure the welfare of every section of society, reaching out to the last mile. Nath also launched a sharp critique against the Communist Party of India (Marxist), claiming that the party has lost public support. He remarked that the CPI(M) is like a “10 rupee coin rejected by the public,” questioning its ideological stance.

Calling for unity, Nath urged citizens to work together towards transforming Tripura into a developed state, reiterating the government’s vision for a ‘Developed Tripura.’
