Mamata Banerjees Popularity Dwindles, Claims JD(U) Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar

Patna, April 2: JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating that the public’s affection for her has diminished. He suggested that Banerjee is anxious about potential electoral losses, leading her to create controversies surrounding the SIR issues.

Kumar also commented on the Z-plus security granted to Nitish Kumar, noting that it is standard procedure as he prepares to take an oath in the Rajya Sabha. He emphasized that there is nothing unusual about this security arrangement; it complies fully with legal requirements.

Addressing ongoing tensions in West Asia, Kumar expressed concern about the global crisis’s impact on India’s economy, clarifying that India is not to blame for these challenges. He welcomed the central government’s recent decision to eliminate customs duties on petrochemical products until June 30.

Kumar described this move as a welfare initiative that will provide relief to various industries. He praised the Prime Minister’s decision, asserting that the central government has fulfilled its constitutional responsibilities, and this decision serves the nation’s interests.

On Thursday, the Finance Ministry announced a complete waiver of customs duties on essential petrochemical products, effective until June 30. This exemption will significantly benefit industries reliant on petrochemical feedstock and intermediates, including sectors such as plastics, packaging, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, automotive components, and other manufacturing areas.
