Srinagar, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, authorities in Srinagar have seized properties valued at over ₹6.22 crore. This operation, conducted by the Srinagar police, aims to intensify actions against assets linked to narcotics.
According to a police statement, the initiative is part of a broader effort to dismantle the financial networks supporting drug-related crimes. The police have confiscated or frozen real estate in six different cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Recent actions by the Nigeen and Zakura police stations, along with earlier operations from the Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar, and Lal Bazaar stations, emphasize the police’s commitment to disrupting not only the operational networks of drug traffickers but also the financial structures sustaining the illegal drug trade.
In one notable case, the Nigeen police seized a two-story residential property in Danihama, Hazratbal, valued at approximately ₹1.10 crore. This property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teli and was confiscated under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, following FIR No. 24/2026 related to Sections 8/21 of the Act.
Similarly, the Zakura police took possession of a residential property in Mulfak Abu Bakar Colony, Hazratbal, worth around ₹1.14 crore. This property is owned by Zubair Ahmad Rather and was seized under FIR No. 44/2026, concerning Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Earlier, the Shalteng police had frozen assets worth nearly ₹1 crore linked to Mohammad Altaf Dar, following investigations under FIR No. 76/2025, which pertains to Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. This included a one-story house and land measuring 11.5 marlas.
In another significant operation, the Ahmad Nagar police attached property valued at about ₹2.2 crore belonging to Owais Ahmad Mir, under FIR No. 09/2025, which involves Sections 8/21/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act. This property includes a two-story residential building with a hall on the second floor and approximately 10 marlas of land.
The Lal Bazaar police also targeted a property linked to drug activities, comprising a two-story house and 3.5 marlas of land, estimated to be worth over ₹35 lakh. This property belongs to Waseem Ahmad Langu and was seized under FIR No. 52/2023, related to Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Additionally, during the investigation of FIR No. 87/2025 at the Shalteng police station, authorities attached the property of Riyaz Ahmad Bhat in Panjinara, Srinagar. This includes a one-story house and 6 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹43 lakh.
These actions reflect the ongoing commitment of the Srinagar police to combat drug trafficking and its associated financial crimes.
