Bhiwadi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Rajasthan Drug Control Commission has launched a significant operation in Bhiwadi after a quality test revealed that five out of 18 drug samples seized from an unlicensed warehouse were of substandard quality. This revelation was announced by Gayatri Rathore, the Principal Secretary of Medical and Health.
During the operation, authorities confiscated approximately 1,500 cartons of drugs and other materials, valued at around ₹4 crore. The seized items are currently under the custody of the drug control officer, in compliance with court orders.
The operation uncovered drugs manufactured and sold by various companies. Eighteen samples were taken for quality testing, prompting the Drug Control Commission to initiate a detailed investigation into the related manufacturing units. Drug Control Commissioner Avichal Chaturvedi stated that inspection teams have been dispatched to these units to examine manufacturing records, raw materials, quality control documentation, batch production records, and distribution and supply chain documents.
The inspections will assess whether the manufacturing, quality testing, storage, and distribution of the drugs adhered to established standards and regulatory requirements. Chaturvedi emphasized that any negligence concerning drug quality and public health, or involvement in unlicensed pharmaceutical trade, will not be tolerated.
He assured that necessary legal actions would follow based on the investigation’s findings against individuals, institutions, and other parties involved. The commitment to maintaining drug quality and safeguarding public health remains a top priority for the commission.
