Mumbai, June 9: Shiv Sena MLA and state cabinet minister Uday Samant has made significant statements regarding the elections of Swarajya institutions in Nashik, the farmers’ movement, and the India Block meeting. He mentioned that a political strategy is being developed for the Nashik elections, with ongoing discussions among all relevant leaders.
While discussing the local authority elections in Nashik, Uday Samant stated that he has had discussions with his ministerial colleague Girish Mahajan on this matter. He said, “Prasad Bapu has supported Shiv Sena’s Darade. Contact has also been made with Gokul Gite, and a positive atmosphere is developing. I will visit Nashik once the situation is clear.”
Samant noted that Girish Mahajan was unable to attend the meeting today due to health issues. He confirmed that both he and Mahajan have discussed this issue with the Chief Minister. He emphasized that a comprehensive strategy is being prepared to secure victory in Nashik.
When asked about farmer leader Bachchu Kadu, Uday Samant expressed that every Shiv Sena worker wishes for leaders like Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to hold high positions, and therefore, respectful language should be used regarding them. He mentioned that Eknath Shinde has given clear instructions in this regard.
Regarding the issues raised by Bachchu Kadu concerning farmers, he stated that Chief Minister Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde had discussed and made decisions on these matters. He acknowledged that some issues are related to the coordination and functioning of the agriculture department, which are being addressed through meetings.
He also mentioned that there has been a demand for Bharat Shetty to be appointed as the guardian minister, and discussions on this topic have taken place with Tatkare. He appealed that the assurances and commitments made should not be forgotten once the seat is uncontested.
Commenting on the India Block meeting, Uday Samant raised the question of who represents the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction. He quipped that while online meetings were held during the COVID-19 pandemic, some individuals still prefer to connect online.
Referring to Sanjay Raut’s statement, he noted that if leaders like Rahul Gandhi are attending meetings online, it should be reconsidered. Samant asserted that online opinions should not be given undue importance.
